Mummy was a juggler.
Daddy was a clown.
Auntie Dotty made them gasp
By hanging upside down.
Uncle Albert on trapeze
Without a safety net.
He might have had a few close shaves
But he hasn’t fallen yet.
Cousin Brenda eating fire.
The audience delight.
When Brendas torches burn away
She sets herself alight.
And cousin Walter swallowed swords.
But Walter nearly died.
While trying out a brand new stunt
He got one stuck inside.
My Grandad tamed the lions.
He taught them how to beg.
But one of them was not amused
And bit off Grandads leg.
And what of me? you may well ask.
I’m eight foot tall and weak.
There are no special jobs for me.
I’m just the circus freak.
